Artesunate + Sulfadoxine + Pyrimethamine Tablet is a fixed-dose combination that contains three active ingredients against uncomplicated malaria parasites. Artesunate + Sulfadoxine / Pyrimethamine Tablets are a curative treatment for all forms of malaria and have been specially designed to treat malaria in 24 hours in children, adolescents and adults.

Artesunate is a semi-synthetic derivative of artemisinin that is water-soluble and is used for the treatment of severe falciparum malaria in areas where there is evidence of quinine resistance. Artesunate should always be administered with Mefloquine in a full therapeutic dose.

Sulfadoxine 500mg + Pyramethamine 25mg is an antimalarial agent that acts by reciprocal potentiation of its two components, achieved by a sequential blockade of two enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of folinic acid within the parasites. It is effective against certain strains of Plasmodium falciparum that are resistant to chloroquine. Both the sulfadoxine and the pyramethamine are absorbed orally and are excreted mainly by the kidney.

This is an Artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) which is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the treatment of all forms of Malaria.
