Diltiazem HCI Tablet is benzothiazepine derivative which is prescribed for treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and arrhythmia. Active chemical of this medicine is known to have molecular formula C22H27ClN2O4S with molar mass of 450.978 g/mol. It is non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker which relaxes smooth muscles and dilates arteries to exert its curative effects. Sometimes it is also utilized as preventive drug for migraine. Diltiazem HCI Tablet is known to be metabolized in liver and serve as inhibitor of CYP3A4 enzyme. It reduces peripheral resistance & afterload by vasodilating coronary & peripheral vessels.
